The organization aims to address young people's needs by involving families and carers in treatment processes and group meetings. Young people’s involvement is crucial, with peer support and volunteering encouraged to influence services and create a knowledge base.

Vision / Values

Open Minded - i.e. anyone entering into treatment should be viewed as at least in contemplation around substances, and has potential to change, as opposed to being in pre-contemplation

Active in community

Facilitation of fun activities in communities that can engage YPs and thus capture YPs to address needs - e.g. seeking participation in community sports events
Provide education in community to promote awareness around substances and needs
strong presence in community to build awareness, capture YPs and hence address need e.g. stalls, events, promotional materials

All Initial care plans are reviewed to a full care plan with young person input

Identify different cultural groups in the community and have presence there
Use of other venues for assessments to reach young people
Drop in / duty for assessments on ad-hoc basis
Offering screening / brief assessments before comprehensive to detemine if comprehensive assessment is needed
Outreach assessments for young people who cant get to service

Use of ITEP maps in assessments to engage YP / YP friendly
Staff experts in assessments so can deliver in innovative ways to engage YPs - e.g. using paperwork as back up, and undertaken assessments through engaged conversation
Comprehensive assessment seeks positive / resiliance /assets / Protective factors of YPs to identify recovery capital and hence reocovery needs
Inclusive of all physical / social / and mental health needs e.g. education, recovery (support network / access to mutual aid / peer support) needs

Use of Psycho-social Interventions to Identify needs

Promote / facilitate meaningful activities / which can be evidenced for effectiveness via YP feedback
