Web Tools Project

Effective classroom tools are essential for fostering student collaboration and engagement. Padlet allows students to share and discuss topics over a week, enhancing classroom discussions.

Web Tools Project

Web Tools for my Classroom

Notes Tools

Prezi
*Online slideshow *Can be used to display notes with embedded materials
Screencastify
*Screencasting service *Can be used to screencast and save notes from class. Can then be shared with students to have a visual copy of notes from class complete with audio.
Popplet
*Mind Mapping Site *Can be used to visually display steps to solving problems. Can also show connections between topics

Professional Networking

Google Hangouts
*Online communication app *Allows typed/audio/video communication. I can use this to communicate with other professionals across my school district. I can also use this to have video chats with authors, illustrators, professionals, etc to bring real world people into the classroom to engage students.
Twitter
*Social media site *Allows me to connect with educators across the world. Quick access to PLCs and ideas for lessons. Different strategies and viewpoints.

Student Sharing/Collaboration

VoiceThread
*Web tool that allows video, audio recording, along with typed responses to a discussion. *Students could post in whatever format they feel comfortable with. Students that may not feel comfortable sharing in front of others in the classroom may feel much more at ease using this.
Padlet
*Online sharing tool. Allows for multiple users to post and share. *I would use this to facilitate weeklong discussion topics. Students can add throughout the week at their own pace. Could then bring up in class to help fuel discussion in the classroom.
Dotstorming
*Web tool for sharing ideas. *Students can use this as a digital idea parking lot. They can vote on ideas or strategies they like when collaborating on a difficult problem. This would work well as an introductory lesson where students can share ideas on how to solve a problem they have not encountered before.

Instructional Tools

School21
*Online instructional program *Subjects are broken into modules for students to work through. Each module has instructional videos for students to watch as needed. Progress is easily tracked
Google Classroom
*Online classroom tool *Teacher can send shareable materials to students. Assignments can be completed.
Khan Academy
*Instructional site with videos, web assignments, print resources, and quizzes. *Can be used as a blended resource. Videos are great for previewing content. Students can also work through lessons on there.
Symbaloo
*Curation tool. Sites can be organized for students. *Having one stop for students to go to with links to important sites. Instead of students having to remember all the different meaningful sites, they only need to go here to find what they need.
Prodigy
*Math-Based Game. Can be differentiated. *Used as review of concepts. Can also be used as a pre-test. Can also give homework/classwork assignments. Questions can be differentiated for student ability
