Atlantic Slave Trade

The transatlantic trading network, known as the Triangular Trade, involved the transportation of manufactured goods from Europe to the west coast of Africa. Here, traders exchanged these goods for captured Africans, who were then shipped to the Americas.

Their skin color made it easier to catch them if they escaped and tried to live among others.
Africans were less likely to escape because they didn't know the new land well enough to just walk around.
Many African Americans had already had experience in farming and could be taught plantation work.
Many Africans had already been exposed to most European diseases and had built up some immunity.
In most African and Muslim societies, slaves had some legal rights and an oppurtunity for social mobility.
Were much stronger than Native Americans.
They were in high demand in Europe.
