Digital Technology.

Digital Tech. American engineers began developing digital technology in the mid-twentieth century. Their techniques were based on mathematical concepts suggested by the seventeenth-century German mathematician, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, who proposed a binary computing system. His innovation inspired such numerical codes as American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) that described objects with digits.

Flowcharts.

Flowcharts A flowchart is a type of diagram that represents an algorithm, workflow or process, showing the steps as boxes of various kinds, and their order by connecting them with arrows. This diagrammatic representation illustrates a solution model to a given problem. Flowcharts are used in analyzing, designing, documenting or managing a process or program in various fields.

Analog Information.

Analog Info. In engineering parlance, humans are receptors of analog signals; and, by a somewhat loose convention, the messages conveyed via these carriers are called analog-form information, or simply analog information. Until the development of the digital computer, cognitive information was stored and processed only in analog form, basically through the technologies of printing, photography, and visual information.

Technical Sales Engineer. Technical sales engineers combine technical knowledge with sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of products. Clients are usually technical staff from non-retail organisations, such as factories, public utility providers, local authorities and hospitals. The emphasis of the work varies depending on the level of technical knowledge needed to sell a particular product or service. Technical Writer. A technical writer is a professional writer who engages in technical writing and produces technical documentation that helps people use a product or service.This documentation includes online help, user guides/manuals, white papers, design specifications, system manuals, project plans, test plans, business correspondence, etc. Technical writers create documentation in many forms, such as printed, web-based, or other electronic means.

Storyboards.

Storyboards. A storyboard is a graphic organizer in the form of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence. The storyboarding process, in the form it is known today, was developed at Walt Disney Productions during the early 1930s, after several years of similar processes being in use at Walt Disney and other animation studios.

Multimedia Elements.

Text It may be an easy content type to forget when considering multimedia systems, but text content is by far the most common media type in computing applications. Images Digital image files appear in many multimedia applications. Digital photographs can display application content or can alternatively form part of a user interface. Interactive elements, such as buttons, often use custom images created by the designers and developers involved in an application. Audio Audio files and streams play a major role in some multimedia systems. Audio files appear as part of application content and also to aid interaction. When they appear within Web applications and sites, audio files sometimes need to be deployed using plug-in media players. Video Digital video appears in many multimedia applications, particularly on the Web. As with audio, websites can stream digital video to increase the speed and availability of playback. Common digital video formats include Flash, MPEG, AVI, WMV and QuickTime. Animation Animated components are common within both Web and desktop multimedia applications. Animations can also include interactive effects, allowing users to engage with the animation action using their mouse and keyboard.

Content Message.

Content Message. Messages can contain both a content and relational dimension. The content dimension is literally what is said through the use of language. The relational dimension is the nonverbal component of the message. It usually is conveyed through tone of voice, eye contact and facial expression, and gestures. Let's imagine you say to your roommate, "I told you I didn't care!" The words that you used are the content dimension. How you say it (nonverbal) will communicate the relational dimension. You can say it in an angry way, a caring way, etc. Common relational messages are affinity (degree of liking), immediacy (amount of attention or interest), respect, and control.
