Changes in Earth's systems often create feedback loops that can significantly influence other systems, highlighting the interconnected nature of our planet. Water is essential not only for sustaining life but also for shaping geological features and enabling agricultural productivity through processes like the water cycle.

1. How do some changes create feedback that affect other Earth systems?

4. Why is carbon important?

Because it’s needed for plants and life
Carbon is a building block for life. It is 18% of the human body. Carbon sources are where carbon is found and stored. Carbon sinks are like a forest. CO2 is good and bad for the environment. It hurts the atmosphere and heats it up. It is also needed for life.

I have been to a Carbon sink like a forest.

2. How did life and Earth systems coevolve?

Some of the spheres had to adapt so they wouldn’t mess up the others.
The lithosphere had to keep making grass and other plant as we dig into the ground. The hydrosphere had to make space for more fish as we fished them. The biosphere had to change the most because we killed off animals and even some species.

I have seen species go extinct like the water rhino.

5. What is the impact of developing and using energy resources on Earth’s living and non-living systems?

The impact is that we may run out the the resources if we use it too much.
The pros of mining are you get good resources. You also get to explore and possibly find new materials. The downside is that your destroying the earth. You are also taking valuable resources. Renewable resources are good because they can come back, but nonrenewable you can only get once and then it’s gone. Human activity is damaging the earth and we are losing materials that we may not get back.
I have seen coal and that is a highly mined ore

6. What issues does waste from humans cause?

Human waste is taking over the ocean. Some people have tried to help, but over time it has gotten so huge. Some islands are now old plastic. People 254 tons of waste last year. 4.40 pounds of waste PER day. I think we should have a system for getting rid of plastic, because plastic doesn’t dissolve it melts. Plastic is the main issue, so we need a new alternative.
I have seen waste in the gulf of mexico
It causes things to have to change and it kills animals.

I think that it depends on the subject because we do good and bad for everything

3. How does water affect Earth’s surface processes?

If we didn’t have water none of the spheres except hydrosphere would be here. Also if there wasn’t water we couldn’t grow food. The water cycle is there so we never run out of water. Some things are moved and even made by water like rocks and others.

I have had plants die because they didn’t get enough water.
