Types of Vertebrate Animals

Vertebrate animals are classified into five main groups: fishes, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, and birds. Fishes are characterized by their strong muscles, fin-like extremities, soft fusiform bodies covered in scales, and gill-based respiration.

They have a beak and their forelimbs are wings.

Their body covered with hair
Most are terrestrial, but there are also aquatic and aerial.
They feed with breast milk

REPTILES

They breathe through lungs
Some are tetrapods and others like snakes do not have limbs
The skin is dry and strong covered with horny scales

FISHES

They breathe through gills
They have strong muscles to be able to swim
Their extremities are like fin
They have a soft body, fusiform and covered with scales
