Healthy and Safety

This problem is continuing to be broadcasted and while help has been coming to those in need, it has not been enough.
Workers are refusing to come into work and some are putting the blame on the government when they get sick from going to work unprepared. This problem is continuing to be broadcasted and while help has been coming to those in need, it has not been enough.
This is a widely known issue as things like face masks, hand sanitizer, protective suits etc. are all in high demand right now. Governments are working hard to secure these items but it is cause for law related arguments.
The necessary protective equipment that employees need is running low and employees are coming to work everyday without the items to protect themselves from others.
In the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, essential business are still running and employees are still required to work. However, in some essential business, this has become a problem.

Employee Rights

This has been said to be contrary to sections of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Many people are opposed to this as it is a lack of jurisdiction and people feel that although the employees are older, it doesn't mean they aren't in dire need of the benefits.
They would make a regular wage but would not qualify for other benefits they rely on (insurance, raises, vacation pay etc).
Recently, in British Columbia, there has been debate regarding the elimination of employment benefits for seniors.

Wages

This has been seen to have a major impact on labour relations in the public sector and the government is seeking feedback from stakeholders related to this bill.
This change is over a three year "moderation period" and means that salary rate increases for employees in the sector are capped at 1% per 12-month period.

Employment Equity

Lawsuits have been brought to Apple for the disability discrimination they faced while working. One man reported that Apple repeatedly refused to work on an individual accommodation plan with him and instead provided useless solutions to his disability.
The worker requires a wheelchair and requested the tables to be lowered to ensure he can access them. He was ensured when he was hired there that they would make the necessary changes. However no changes were made even after months of working there. This is an ongoing issue and will be taken to court.
