The narrative revolves around Sasha, a woman deeply affected by her past, particularly her failed marriage and the loss of her first child. She struggles with feelings of abandonment and seeks solace in the company of a male gigolo, hoping this attention will alleviate her sense of loneliness and make her feel desired.
She looks to fill that void she lost in the past with Enno because in her marriage her husband abandoned her because he didn't feel like she loved him anymore. She tries to find love with the comfort of a male gigolo believing that this attention from man will make her feel wanted.
Sashe becomes traumatized by her losing her first child feeling that she has no reason to be happy anymore she tries to avoid her past by going to movies, taking walks, sitting by herself in cafe's

Point of View
My overall interpretation of the book is that Sasha is trying to find meaning in the life that she lives, she feels like she has no purpose in this world her only purpose was fulfilled by her past experiences with her youthful Marriage and life/death of her child that is why the book is called good morning, midnight I believe she is embracing the night meaning the end of her life cause she feels like there is nothing else for her anymore, but the book does throw the reader for a cliff hanger because it takes place with Sasha and the gigolo in the room together while she tries on a blue dress in front of him the author says "Thank god, he doesn't say anything. I look straight into his eyes and despise another poor devil for a human being for the last time. For the last time... Then I put my arms around him and pull him down on the bed saying: Yes-yes-yes..." at the end of that quote many things can be implied about it was it sexual? was it happiness? did she find her purpose? as a reader's we do not know.
