Malta is an group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Malta is a very small country witch only is 316 square kilometers.
The nature in Malta is not the same everywhere. In north you can find wonderful fourest trails and plantations. While in the south there are many beaches.
Maltas closest neighbor is the italien island Sicilien witch is around 36 miles from the island.
Malta has two islands there names are Gozo and Comino. They have some more islands that they dont really caunt as a separat iceland.
Comino is the third biggest island in Malta and it is on the north side of Malta.
Gozo is a island in the maltish country. On Gozo it lives around 35 000 people there.
Malta has as a country belonged to many diffrent countrys but also people in the past.
In 1796 Malta belong to france , but already two years later Malta became an brtich koloni. Then finally in 1974 Malta become an independent country. After that in 2004 Malta was accepted as a member in EU. (Even though it is the smallest country. )
The capital of Malta is Valletta.
Valletta had 5 730 inhabitant in 2016 .But in 2003 ther lived aurond a thosand more pepole in Valletta then in 2016.
Today Malta has over 500 000 inhabitants, but in 1960 ther was wher 200 000 les.
