A filibuster is someone or a group of people that threatened Spanish rule in Texas

Dr James Long
June 1819 led a group of people from Mississippi
to Nacogdoches where he declared independence from Spain.
Spanish Troops surrounded them and forced them
to surrender.
James Long was the last major filibuster in Texas.
He was shot by a prison guard in April 8 1822.
