Accounts for 8-10 percent of all childhood cancers

650-700 childrenare diagnosed in the United States per year

95% are diagnosed BY 10 years old

A very small percentage of adults are diagnosed

Most children are diagnosed before 1 years old

Sometimes can start before birth

Where the Cancer Is found

Arises from the Nervous system

Commonly starts in the Adrenal Gland

More than half of the cases happen to children

Also is believed to arise from the Olfactory Epithelium

Life Rate on Disease

At stage 4 there is a 40% Survival rate

Neuroblastoma is hard to find and diagnose so most people are past stage four when found

Symptoms

Lump in the abdomen, neck, or chest.

Bulging eyes

Dark circles around the eyes

Bone pain

Swollen stomach and trouble breathing (in infants)

Painless, bluish lumps under the skin (in infants).

Weakness or paralysis
