My uncle plays in a band here in Kelowna, because of that he is very well known in restaurants, bars, city park, etc. Plus he is a very sociable guy. He knows a lot of people who are looking for employees, or good job opportunities where he could put a good word out for me.
Boss
Knowing the boss of a job I would be interested in could be a huge advantage, someone who is above management. Even if they aren't able to give me a job of their own they can help me with connections for other possible jobs that they are aware of.
Manager
I would like to know the manager or a high end job, because if I know a manager I have a higher chance of getting the job. Also managers are very good connections because they get to meet other big people in other jobs.
Friend
One of my close friends works with their family restaurant business where I can easily work since her being my friend, her family knows me and would hire me for sure if I was in need of a job.
Teacher
Once you get closer with a teacher they are able to help you with their connections, or they can introduce you to someone who could be a possible connection.
Brother
My brother works at a mexican restaurant where he is very appreciated. If he were to put a word out about me and mention I'm his sister they would take me consider me more than someone they don't have any sort of connections to.
Co-workers
I've had co-workers leave the job for a new one, and many times they let me know they need more people in that new job, and sometimes it is better pay or a better job. So co-workers can be a good connection.
Mom
My mom works in a perfume industry, if I were to want a job there, she could definitely put a word out for me and tell them I am her daughter and I could definitely get hired.
PE teacher
I want to be a PE teacher when I grow up. Knowing one might help me because not only can they give me advice but they can help have a higher chance of being able to get the PE teacher job.
Dad
My dad is an oil engineer, who has connections all over the world. Women aren't as accepted as men in the oil industry world, but I get an advantage by having a father who was a part of it. My dad is a very sociable guy who knows people, that could also advantage me.
Friends
Also friends/acquaintances could be a good way to get connections, because even though you aren't too close with them, you still know each other, so they could talk about you to their own job or possible connections they have.
Friend's parents
Talking to friend's parents about jobs many times they'll come up with possible jobs of people they know and they give you information or vice-versa, give the employer information about you.
