Week #2 Learning Goals
Why is it important
It is important for assessment to be fair, transparent, and equitable because it should be good for all students, help students improve, and have different evidence of student learning options
Math
I would have students work on open complex questions that have multiple different ways of being solved, so that way students are able to work in groups and use their different skills to solve the question
Visual Arts
I would have art work be assessed on more than design elements and composition, but on how it relates to their political theme, personal story or cultural inspiration
I would also assess on the resources they found
Challenging
I understand fully how to assess mathematics, and provide different options for assessment, but I am wondering how to be as open with visual arts. Maybe providing different options, such as doing something with physical art materials or doing it online? Maybe providing them with different options on describing their art works, or art critiques.
