How can teachers support parents with understanding the importance of a bilingual/multilingual student?

Be open to questions, show student work, explain your thought process and be honest

Use an interpreter or translator for messages sent home and parent teacher meetings

Show your support and respect for the L1 and the family's culture

Invite parents in for interviews or to school performances so they can see their student in an English environment
