In flowering plants, reproduction involves both male and female parts. The male parts include the filament, which connects the anther to the flower, and the anther, which produces and holds pollen grains until fertilisation.

Once fertilised, it will emit a new chemical which will form a new tube through itself. The pollen grains can now move on to meet the ovules.
