Concerning oaths

Some people very much like to swear for anything; they do not pay attention to oaths. For example, When I play computer games, I always hear some people swear for small things, such as “I swear I can clutch you”, “I swear I am a good person”, and “I swear it is an apple”. They do not think oaths are an important thing; it is a terrible habit, because ignoring oath also means ignoring credit of themselves; it will make no one believe their speaking.

Some people like to swear something forever, even if it is difficult or impossible. For instance, some lovers like to say, “I swear I will love you forever.” Some criminals like to say, “I will not violate the law again.” No one could know if they will follow their oath, including themselves; they just want others to feel moved and do something that is good for them; it is terrible.

Many people like to use oaths to answer others, instead of direct answers, such as “Yes” or “No”. For example, when their teammate asks if they could complete the work at time, they always answer like, “Oh, I swear I complete it at time.” They could use “Yes”, but they do not. Since they do not pay attention to oaths, and think it is an unimportant thing.

Concerning almsgiving

Sometimes I meet some people who do not have a correct self-awareness. They always believe that they are important for others. For instance, they borrow money for some people, who lack a little money to buy snacks; this thing is not very important for others, because they could go back home to take money, or cook at home instead of eating snacks. However, the people who lack a correct self-awareness will think this help is important for others; so they will always talk about it with everyone who they meet. Those people like to describe their small help to become a large help, and make everyone know it. They are easily hated by others.

In school, I find some students are good at making teachers feel great, because they always help their classmates in front of their teacher. However, they do not really like to help others, and their actions may not be important for others. These students just show in front of their teacher, therefore, teachers have a deeper impression than other students who really help others; and then, teachers will give them more benefits because of their impression. It is unfair for other students. Students should not give benefits because of their almsgiving show.

When I pay attention to the news online, I find a lot of news about some public figures; they all give people the impression that they are so good, because they always help others, such as donating to charities, and building a new school. However, Some people’s kindness is false; their goodness just helps them get more profit or to hide their illegal actions. For example, some stars help others to get more fans who are touched by their actions; some people build orphanages, but they also sell children from other people. Almsgiving should be from people’s heart; it should not have another purpose instead of helping others.

The Golden Rule

Everyone can not live in current society without others’ help. However, any actions will harm others’ enthusiasm for helping others. For example, a helper is harmed because the helper saves others from a traffic accident; however, the people who are helped do not thank the helper or help the helper to cure his injury. So the helper does not help others again because the people’s actions harm the helper.

In history, many kingdoms are destroyed because of their tyranny. They do not care about the general people; they oppress general people and rob anything from them, therefore, many families are destroyed; many people die. When people can not tolerate it, people will revolt; they will fight with the king to protect their rights. So, if a person treats others terribly, others will become the person’s enemies and do anything the person did to them.

The success of a person can not be without others’ help. Those successful companies are good examples. If managers treat their staff well, such as giving them extra awards if they work great, the staff will love their work and company, and work hard. If managers believe their staff and always encourage them, the staff will also believe their managers and follow them. It makes the company become better and better.

Judging others

Sometimes friends and family have some conflict because of some different ideas. In that time, they will ask us to decide who is right. It is a terrible thing, because you will always harm a person. For example, when my mother and father have conflict because of some small things, they will ask me, “if we divorce, who do you want to follow?” This question does not have a right answer, so keeping silent is the best solution.

When people surf online, they can see a lot of conflicts between strangers. However, some people still will speak their ideas for those conflicts, even if they do not know any information about the conflicts. They do not care about who is right. For example, some people want to support a murderer and insult the justicer, just because the murderer looks so handsome.

People should avoid easily giving an answer because of their own bias. For instance, a classmate misses a thing in the class, so the teacher asks students who knows where the thing is. Some people do not know where the thing is, but they say, “May Bob steal the thing, because he always tricks others.” They give an answer without any evidence; and their action really harms others; it is incorrect.

The narrow gate

When we are children, many parents would like their children to have a good living condition, so they will tell their children about the benefits of a good environment. These teachings make many people want to get a good job in a large city; However, some people have a different idea. For example, some teachers go to poor places to teach children who lack education; there is a terrible environment, and those teachers only get a low wage. But those teachers are important for those children; they give those children an opportunity to change their life, so no one could not respect them because of their great decision.

When we study math at school, the teachers always tell us a way to solve them; However, some people would like to find a new way to solve them. They may be ridiculed by others, and may be persuaded by their parents, because it is an impossible and useless thing; no one wants to use a difficult way to solve a question, if it has a simple way. But it also means they have potential in math, people should not stop them, because it makes them have an interest in math. They may discover something that will change the world.

Scientist is a difficult job, because they can not understand when they could find the answer to their project. However, some people do not care about the benefit of their discovery; they just ridicule those scientists is stupid, because others job, such as a CEO, could earn more money than them. It is wrong, their discovery makes technology advance; it is important for us, so we should respect them.
