Africville
BLM
The BLM movement was at its peak after George Floyd got killed unjustly (2020).
Africville (a city in Nova Scotia, Canada) was a refuge for freed black people from slavery which was in inhumane conditions. Despite the fact that the black people requested support from the government (running water, electricity, sewer systems, etc.), they got no support. Black citizens ended up being evicted from Africville.

You should use the P.S. to tell something impressive about your career.
Employement
Job opportunities were very limited during the Great Depression, which made it hard for families to sustain their homes. Since people had many kids at that time, families were big and the food was limited. The government did not interfere with aiding Canadians at the time as much as they do today, so people struggled to live and some got evicted.
Women's Roles
Despite the fact that many women worked harder jobs than men during the 1930's while having the responsibility to take care of their homes, they where paid significantly less than men. Even though women's rights and roles had a higher status over the years, they still had less opportunities, and men were deemed more superior.
Why?
Homelessness was so common due to inflation. The stock market had a huge crash and millions of investors closed down their companies, which gave less people the opportunities to get a job or to be able to support their families,
Homelessness
The 1930s were known as 'the Great Depression'. Homelessness became so common that around 30% of all Canadians became homeless. The government set up relief camps to aid the homeless, however their help was very limited and below expectations
