Grade 11 and 12 Physics

Newton's laws of motion have profoundly influenced our understanding of physical interactions. The Second Law explains how force causes acceleration, emphasizing that greater mass requires greater force for acceleration, encapsulated in the equation F = ma.

Theory of relativity (Einstein)

The Theory of relativity is, "All physics laws are the same for all non-accelerating observers". He proved light's speed within a vacuum is the "same no matter the speed at which an observer travels". This means that Albert Einstein proved a theory that changes how we all see the world today, this was a very solidified step in our history as humans.
Einstein's theories lead to many future advadsments in physics

Coulomb's law

Add your text
F=electric force k=Coulomb constant q_1, q_2=charges r=distance of separation

We worked on these questions in class during the electricity unit. This equation can be used to solve questions about charges.

Coulomb's law states the, like charges repel and opposite charges attract,. "With a force proportional to the product of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them".
Electrostatics and Electrodynamics

Doppler effect

We practised this theory in class, and solved question using the Doppler effect
Formula

The Doppler effect was discovered by Christian Andreas Doppler, this equation can be used with sound and frequency questions like we did in class. "The Doppler effect or Doppler shift is the change in frequency of a wave in relation to an observer who is moving relative to the wave source"

f{o}=observer frequency of sound v=speed of sound waves v{o}=observer velocity v{s}=source velocity f{s}=actual frequency of sound waves

Newton's Laws of motion

Sir Isaac Newton laws were a moment in history and change how all humans go about their life
Newtons 3 laws of motion is something we have talked about in grade 11 and 12.
The definition of the 3rd law, "Newton's Third Law of Motion states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. What this means is that pushing on an object causes that object to push back against you, the exact same amount, but in the opposite direction. For example, when you are standing on the ground, you are pushing down on the Earth with the same magnitude of force that it is pushing back up at you." This law was also apart of our learning in class. This is the reason why your hand will hurt if you punch a wall.
The definition of the 2nd law, "Newton's Second Law of Motion states that when a force acts on an object, it will cause the object to accelerate. The larger the mass of the object, the greater the force will need to be to cause it to accelerate. This Law may be written as force = mass x acceleration or: F = m * a" This is an equation we used in class and this can be applied to the real world if you want to measure your force you can plug it into the equation. Similarly if your pushed on a friction-less surface and you want to know how far you'll go you can measure the force of the push.
1st Law, "Newton's First Law of Motion states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless an external force acts upon it. Also if an object is at rest, it will remain at rest unless an unbalanced force acts upon it". This is the 1st law's definition, but this apples to the real world as if your on a friction-less surface, if at rest you won't move unless someone pushes you.

Cosmic ancestry

This theory is a new one within current physics, it states that we all have an ancestry.
"Cosmic ancestry is a hypothesis of the origin of life on Earth, based on the panspermia views of Fred Hoyle and Chandra Wickramasinghe. Cosmic Ancestry speculates that life, like the universe itself, has no date of origin, and has always existed and can only descend from ancestors at least as highly evolved as itself." from (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmic_ancestry#:~:text=Cosmic%20ancestry%20is%20a%20hypothesis,as%20highly%20evolved%20as%20itself.) This theory is very interseting and it show how physics is evolving with time and technology. More and more theory's will come in the future and will help us understand more about the universe, but also when we solve one question, 100 more appear as we know that we don't know much about the universe. This is the learning process with physics it is very interesting.
