About Dink
He is not a quitter
"Because i can't give up the game"
Dink sees potential in Ender
He has a Toon and is known as "god" to Ender
Colonel Graff told Ender, that is what Dink will be known as to him
He can not leave the game and go back home because he loves the game and can't give up
He turned down the offer to be commander not once, but twice.
He believes that if there were still buggers out there going to attack them, they would have done it by now
They beat the buggers during the 1st and 2nd invasion so they are gone and not coming back.

Examples that prove he is a good leader
He watches Ender to see how he is doing and to see if he needs some improvement that he could teach him.
During Enders practices, Dink will stand to the side and watch him teach.
He does not give up
"Because I can't give up the game"
He does not give up. he can't give up because he likes the game, and he just simply can't give up. That is not how he is like. If he does not give up then his soldiers will not give up either.
He does not let other people control him
"Because i won't let them do it to me"
Dink does not let people control him or take advantage of him. He will only let Bonzo control him since he is the boss, but he will not let anyone else tell him what he can and can not do and that will prove to his soldiers to not even try to take advantage of him.
He realizes what people are trying to do
"We kill ourselves, go crazy trying to beat each other and all the time the old bastards are watching us, studying us, discovering our weak points. deciding whether we are good enough or not"
This proves that Dink is a good leader because if he realizes what people are trying to do then he can learn to work around it and lead his army to victory.
He knows what he wants and makes sure he gets it
"I just stayed in the cabin until they gave in and put me back into somebody else's army"
This proves he is a good leader because he did not want to be a commander so he made he was not going to be one and did what he had to do to prevent it.
"Because I love this"
This proves that he is a good leader because he does what he loves and shows that he does not hate it. If he showed that he hated being a toon leader, then his soldiers would not take him seriously.
