SIXTH MALAYSIA PLAN (1991-
1996)
PLAN :
1. The National Sports Policy (NSP) adopted in 1989 provided general guidelines for national sports development and focused on high performance and mass participation sports programmed.
2. High Performance programmed were aimed at achieving excellence in national and international competitions as well as enhancing the national image.
3. Mass participation programmed were aimed to promoting greater participation in sports and recreation, especially at the grassroots level, with a view to developing a healthy, active and productive society
FIFTH MALAYSIA PLAN (1986-1990)
PLAN :
1. During the 4th plan period, new concepts such as mass participation and high performance in sports, were introduced as the foundation for the development of sports and recreation in the country. These two concepts were adopted as the basic for the formulation of the National Sports Policy.
2. NSC, which was reactivated in early 1982, undertook the responsibility of developing high performance in sports, particularly in competitive sports.
3. NSC assisted the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) in training sportsmen from the various national sports bodies before their participation in international competitions.
FOURTH MALAYSIA PLAN (1981-1985)
PLAN :
1.Development of sports was directed towards building a healthy community and promotion of national unity.
2. National Sports Organization were provided with financial assistance for training programmed and holding of major and international tournaments.
THIRD MALAYSIA PLAN (1976-1980)
PLAN :
1.Provided various facilities to help youth become productive, disciplined and self-reliant members of society.
2. For this programmed, multi-purpose complexes were completed in all state capitals excepts Kota Bharu and Kota Kinabalu. (due to site acquisition
difficulties).
3. To provide leadership courses, sports and cultural activities.
