The ancient times books

Wealthy families had large and comfortable houses with rooms and fireplaces and a wall around it.

Adults and children usually slept on mats from rushes or padded material with wooden headrests rather than pillows.

In the cities, poorer families lived in crowded conditions with a shop on the ground floor.

People either sat or knelt on mats or the carpets. There were no chairs.

Barns and a buncha other buildings surrounded a farmhouse. Storage rooms were made on stilts.

Decorated screens, beautiful fabric wall hangings, and woolen carpets were found in large homes.

Some of the non-wealthy people lived in one room huts.

Chinese people make roofs with tiles because they knew that evil spirits go in a straight line and the curved tile roofs kept them away.

Several farming families lived in a large shareable house and worked in the fields together.

They used stilts to protect dampness and rats from their food.

The courtyard of the farm house was needed to thresh and dry grain and vegetables.

Chinese people made houses from wood, bamboo, brick, and tile.
