Consequences of Conquest

When different groups of people come into contact through conquest or settlement, the impact on culture is significant. The blend of new customs with those of indigenous populations can lead to a rich cultural exchange, but it can also marginalize native traditions and voices.

Culture: With Conquest it brings new culture to an already established nation. When coming to Canada, Aboriginal people have already been living Canada for years. With new settlers it brings new culture and room for expansion with culture. However, with this it can bring too much of a cultural impact and shift and leave the Aboriginals with less impact and voice on their own nation.

Landscape: The landscapes of worlds are very vast and prominent and can be holders of great resources and many other great things. With new settlers and people arriving they can quickly disrespect previous owners of this land and settle with no remorse or attention to the original people who have already settled in the area. The landscape can bring great opportunity but also can bring theft and the stealing of others' property and belongings.

Discrimination: With the new people it can bring discomfort among people, cultures and races. With new arrivals it can bring separation of ideas, thoughts and beliefs and can create discrimination among groups. With the native peoples it could bring discomfort.

Conflict: Conflict can quickly arise with a simple disagreement. Coming from another place and trying to attain a lot from an already settled place is immensely difficult. It can bring physical conflict and can start wars between groups and even inner conflict can arise.

Economics: They play a big role in the new settlement of countries and conquest. Economics can bring great opportunity for stable communication and growth in a community and bring great inclusion for settlers and citizens. However, this can bring great challenge to already established places and can have a negative effect and major repercussions. This can either make a community or place thrive or slowly disintegrate.

Relationships: Conquest can either make people friends or turn people into enemies. With the arrival of new people into a new land it can bring many things, trading, alliances, sharing, inclusiveness but it can also bring much conflict. With the new groups and agreements not everything can be unanimous. Relationships play a key role in the functionality of a community.

Respect: Respect should be a key thing that needs to be instituted. With newcomers, if they don't show respect to the native people and are shown as arrogant, it is not good. A first impression is good because it gets the ball rolling on expansion and further development among people and in the community. New settlers not showing the respect of the native people and not showing respect for the things they have already implemented with their land and society is wrong. This can lead to extreme conflict and can be very deadly to both of the opposing sides.
