Rooms

Calming rooms

Padded walls, etc., must EXCEED state regulations for duration/safety; include students in debriefings; 2 per floor.

Cafeteria

Food prepared in combination of food produced from student garden, culinary arts class period; communal eating (entire school @ one time); options for allergen - free menu TBD

Classrooms

Each equipped with smartboards, windows overlooking central courtyard, focus on inquiry-based instruction/investigations (hands-on manipulatives learning for ALL subjects), so space to accommodate enough materials for each student

Computer Lab

Incredible access to assistive technology tools, software, and trainings; ability to check out/loan-to-own for students/staff programs; access online universities for college credits

Library

Centralized electronic research resources, software (e.g., Boardmaker), for students and staff

The Serenity Room

All four walls plexiglass freshwater pond with bamboo and koi... bamboo floors with benches and floor pillows... no talking or cellphones allowed, serenity prayer with God removed (may I be granted....) place for people to spend 5 or 10 minutes in quiet meditation/contemplation during day... teach students (and staff!) self-regulation
