Finale Project

The scientific method is a systematic approach that scientists use to acquire and validate knowledge. It begins with formulating a question based on observations, followed by developing a hypothesis, conducting an experiment, and finally arriving at a conclusion.

How does the scientific method help scientist acquire information?

Why is it important to know the metric system?

his system is easier because they go by the power of 10. It is also a lot easier to convert between all of the different types of measurement.
The easy way to work with the metric system is by using the order of prefixes. The order in KHDbDCM. The only thing you have to do with the letters are move the decimal.
It is Important to know because every county exect 3 of them you the metric system. America is not one of those county but the bordering counties are.

How can data collection be more accurate?

You could put it in a chart so that you can go back and figure out
Using measurements can really help because they will give you an exact number if you do it right.
Using signature figures can really help because all you have to do is find the decimal and count the numbers to get your answer.

What happens when an experiment does not lead to a hypothesis being supported?

You will first start with the main question, then you can create hypothesis and then do the experiment. IF the experiment goes right then you can make your conclusion.
If the hypothesis is wrong, you can pick a different hypothesis or start a different experiment.
The steps to the scientific method are questioning, observation, hypothesis, and conclusion.
Supportive and answers the question, after the experiment is over.

What makes a good question?

Guide lines for a good question
Always be able to have the answer to the question at the end of the experiment.

A good question is when the answer fully answers the question that was given.

If I give 3/4 of a cookie to 17 people how many full cookies will I have left?

Should be related to the hypothesis

A good question is when you don't use a yes or no question. It should take at least a complete sentence or two.

Which one will take longer to freeze and why? A gallon of water in a freezer, then it would to freeze one cup of water outside when the temperature is 21'F?

Use the term 'what if'

A bad question is when you ask a quest that can be answer in yes or no. It can also be answered in one word.

A bad question would be....Which is better, chocolate or vanilla ice cream?

Use a question that will lead to a big answer.
