how does the earth change over time

The Earth undergoes continuous transformation through natural processes and the emergence of new life forms. Water significantly influences these changes by affecting weathering, erosion, and deposition, which shape the planet'

how does the earth change over time

natural disasters have become more common and our carbon levels are crazy

why is carbon important?

sources: docs 55,56 and notebook notes claim: you want to keep carbon leveled bc it is better for the environment. evidence: carbon levels are so high that it is killing our coral reefs. carbon is the sixth element on the periodic table. burning fossil fuels add co2 to the air. found in solid forms such as diamond. Carbon is released into the air and is associated with climate change. connections: i watched a video of carbon and hoe it was killing coral reefs.

how did life and earth systems coevolve?

sources, activities, and notebook pages: doc copy of 50 claim: how things evolved. the thresholds over time. evidence: photosynthesis 3.5 billion yrs ago new complexity is oxygen. brains 500 million yrs ago processes much more info. land 475 million years ago organisms adapt to life on land. mammals 250 million years ago warm blooded. these are important bc they are what the earth is today and will continue to evolve. connections: i am a mammal so i am apart of the evolving threshold.

the earth evolves new life and land but it is up to us if we want to keep the world "healthy"

what impact should humans have on earths systems?

sources: notes on "before the flood" claim: we are polluting the earth with everything we do honestly. if people don't stop and think about it you can do the smallest things to make a difference even if it is just turning off a light when you are leaving. evidence: we burn so many fossil fuels that ice is melting and coral reefs are dying. the US has been the biggest ammeter of greenhouse gasses. everything g we build create co2 which leads to climate change. climate stays the same as its been in the last decade we will no longer have green land. connections:i live in a world that is becoming overly polluted and it really sad that anyone barely does anything to fix it.

how does water affect earth's processes?

claim: water in the atmosphere determined by winds, landforms, and ocean temps and currents. evidence: the acidic levels are rising in oceans. it also causes weathering (breaking down) and erosion (moving). when enough is being deposited it becomes smaller. gravity, wing, water, and plants are four different agents of change in earths surface processes harms marine life connections: when its raining and you see water starting to sit on top of the soil there is too much water for it to absorb. sources: document 52, 53 and google

how do some changes create feedback that affects other earth systems?

source: notebook pg 45 under notes claim: positive and negative feedback evidence: connection circles, microbial life on land increased formation of sand, altered erosion of coast lines, negative feedback stabilizes like a graph not too far apart, positive feedback is it rising yet if it was on a graph it would be all over the place. connections: i have used/seen positive and negative graphs in school.
