How Our Systems Work Together

The circulatory, respiratory, and digestive systems play vital roles in maintaining the body’s health and functionality. The respiratory system facilitates the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide, essential for cellular activity and waste removal.

How Our Systems Work Together

How the musculoskeletal system works with the circulatory and digestive system?

The musculoskeletal system uses muscles from the heart to pump oxygen-rich blood to the arteries that carry blood to cells. The circulatory system transports oxygen through blood to the muscles when the body is resting, blood carries nutrients to the muscles so they can rebuild or repair themselves, and the blood also carries away hard-working muscle produce to the lungs to be filtered out.

Food moves through our digestive system like like wave. The muscles close to the fragile organs helps relax this movement because the muscles are around the organs so the organs cannot feel the waves of the food. The muscles are like a shield to the fragile organs so they can't be affected by the waves. The muscles also loosen and tighten during digestion. When the waste food is ready to leave the body the muscles loosen up to allow the waste to exit.

How the respiratory system works with the musculoskeletal and digestive system?

The musculoskeletal system helps us inhale and exhale oxygen. When we inhale oxygen, our diaphragm which is a muscle does down to allow us to take in oxygen. When we exhale carbon dioxide our diaphragm goes up to help us exhale the carbon dioxide. The respiratory system also gives oxygen to the muscles which is good for us because it's helping to break down glucose and create fuel to our muscles.

Our digestive system breaks down food to move through the digestive tract. For our food to properly move through the digestive tract, it needs oxygen to function appropriately. The respiratory system depends on a properly functioning digestive system so it can provide the fuel it needs to work appropriately.

How the circulatory system works with the respiratory and musculoskeletal system?

The circulatory and respiratory systems work together to circulate oxygen and blood throughout the body. Oxygen taken from the respiratory system moves into our blood vessels that then circulate oxygen-rich blood to our tissues and cells. If we have healthy blood and oxygen flow in our body it will allow our heart, lungs, and muscles to function properly and effectively. With good oxygen and blood flow we have a less chance of catching diseases or getting sicknesses.

The circulatory system helps bring oxygen in the blood to the cell. The musculoskeletal system then uses the heart muscles to pump the oxygen so it goes to the heart and as well as the cells.

How the nervous system works with the respiratory and digestive system?

The nervous systems controls our eating and drinking behaviors and the tone of our digestive tract. The neutrons are regulated by our peripheral hormones which indicate the brain whenever we eat some type of food and how much we should eat till we're full.

The respiratory system supplies oxygen to the blood and removes carbon dioxide. The nervous system controls our blood gas levels in the respiratory system as well as the circulation of oxygen and blood.

How the digestive system works with the respiratory and circulatory system?

The respiratory system gives oxygen to the blood which is very important for the digestive system because the digestive system breaks down food using muscle contractions to move food through our digestive tract, which requires oxygen so it can function properly and more efficiently to allow digestion to happen properly.

The circulatory system carries chemical signals from our endocrine system that controls the speed of digestion. It also carries the absorbed nutrients and helps distribute it through the body. The digestive system gets nutrients and sends it over to the blood, then the circulatory system carries the nutrients through the blood the the body.

The respiratory system allows us to breathe and interchange carbon dioxide for oxygen using our lungs and tissues to help us breathe. The blood vessels and lungs help clean out waste like carbon dioxide. The systems function is to provide oxygen to cells and removes carbon dioxide that is produced in cells which is called gas exchange.

The circulatory system is made up of blood, the heart and blood vessels. The function of the system is to transport substances around the body and regulate body temperature. The blood vessels carry blood away from and towards the heart, arteries carry blood away from the heart (under the most pressure), and the veins carry blood back to the heart. The circulatory system carries nutrients, cells, oxygen, and removes the waste products such as carbon dioxide.

The digestive system is responsible for getting food in and out the body. The system takes in food, breaks it down to a usable size, and takes out the remaining waste. All this happens through the digestive tract and accessory organs. The digestive tract includes oral cavity, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and the anus. The accessory organs are the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. They all help in indigestion, digestion and mainly absorption.

Musculoskeletal System

The musculoskeletal system is made up of bones and skeletal muscle, which supports the body, allows movement, and protects delicate organs. It supports and allows movement to the body. We have 3 different types of connective tissues called bones, ligament, and cartilage which supports and holds together our tissues and organs.

Nervous System

The nervous system controls everything that we do such as thinking, feeling hungry, breathing etc. The system is made up of our brain, spinal cord and all the nerves in our body. The nerves carry messages from and to the body so the brain can take action.
