She managers the care coordinators and may hear about issues and needs of the elderly while coordinating their care. She has a lot of experience and we believe she could provide valuable information on what he elderly needs
She has been a caregiver herself and is now part of the management team at Homewatch Caregivers. They work in local cities and know the needs of the elderly very well. At home care may be more personal and can reveal more things about what the elderly needs.
H.E.L.P (Healthcare and Elder Law Programs Corporation) is a non-profit organization that provides information, education and counseling on elder care, law, finances and consumer protection. Their staff is trained to provide information and referrals to community, nonprofit, and government resources. They can be an excellent resource for us not only as a primary source, but also through their referral network as secondary sources.
Shepherd's Center of America is a non-profit organization for the elderly with religious sentiment. They provide resources such as educational classes/workshops, health & wellness, and volunteer opportunities for elderly. They can be a valuable resource for us because their focus is not only on supporting retired citizens, but providing a platform for the elderly to share their wisdom with their community. We find this helpful because we share the idea that the elderly are fully capable and we want to empower them to make decisions with our solution.
AARP is the largest non-profit dedicated to the elderly in the United States. They advocate for the rights of elderly, such as Social Security. A membership to AARP provides an array of health and travel benefits as well as discounts for restaurants, groceries, and entertainment. They can be a good resource for our community discovery because they have many chapters in Detroit and partner with senior resource centers near Ann Arbor.
She has had 38 years of experience in healthcare and works as a advocate herself. She also worked on the Board of the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy Consultants, so she has a unique background and could provide many different perspectives
Her role as President of the certification board will give us a lot of knowledge of what skills are needed as a patient advocate and what patient advocates might need. She has been president since 2017 which means she has adjusted to her position but can still have fresh eyes on issues that may be happening
They provide the service that we are focusing on and they provide it in MI, IN, OH, and FL. There multi-state locations could give us a more information on our project. Also, she is the President and CEO which could give a different insight than the other two.
They provide the private patient advocacy service for elderly patients, which is what we are focusing on. She is the lead advocate and it's located locally in Detroit. This could mean we could potentially meet her in person.
Want to speak with her because she is the main contact for private patient advocate service. Additionally it's local to where we are and we believe should could give good insight on our idea and we could potentially meet in person.
Can't find a direct contact, but think this could still be helpful. They are the main site to find a health advocate and it was created by the Alliance of Professional Health Advocates
Can't find direct contact, but could be useful to reach out with this email or number since they are the main organization for patient advocates
This is a local retirement home and since Angie Hanson is the administrator for resident services, we think she would have close contact with the residents. Potentially she could tell us some of the needs the elderly residents have or connect us to them to talk to them personally.
This is a local Ann Arbor retirement home and we think they could give us good insight about what the elderly in the area are looking for. Trey Litz is the Community Director so he probably already talks to a lot of people in the surrounding community and may be more willing to talk to us.

This organization hosts Caregiver Conversations, which is an educational support group for adult children who serve in a variety of caregiving roles for their aging parents. If she has coordinated the events, then maybe she has some information on what the caregivers need and are looking for.
This is an insurance agency that also specializes in life insurance. They are a local insurance company and have been serving Ann Arbor since the 1970s. They would have more information about the ins-and-outs of insurance in our local area. Since Cynthia is the owner, she would have a lot of information of the company as a whole, and could also direct us to people who may know more and be helpful for our project.
Prudential is also listed as one of the top insurance providers for the elderly. Pirronello works at a local branch in Saline, which isn't too far away and could mean we can meet him in person. On his bio, one of the things he specializes in is life during retirement. This means that he interacts a lot with life insurance for elderly and could give us good information about how the insurance system works for elderly patients.
Fidelity is listed as one of the top insurance providers for the elderly. He leads the local Ann Arbor branch, which means we can potentially meet with him in person. Additionally, since he is head of the branch, he probably has his hands on a lot of different things and can direct us to other parts of the company that may be more relevant to our project.

AGS is a nation-wide, not-for-profit society of geriatric professionals who specialize in improving the health, independence, and quality of life for older people. This mission aligns well with our OS, which focuses on improving those three facets in the context of an elderly persons interaction with medicine. Because there is a student-led branch of the organization at the University of Michigan, we believe that we might be able to leverage our position as University of Michigan students to converse with representatives of the organization, specifically Chelsea, who is available as the primary contact to anyone interested in learning more about the organization.
The University of Michigan Geriatrics Center seeks to increase the span of healthy, active life for older adults through interdisciplinary clinical care, education, research and community service. This focus on the health and well-being of elderly people aligns well with our OS. The Center is entirely faculty-led, increasing their openness to inquiries from students at the University. In addition to serving as a director for the Geriatrics Center, Alexander is also a UM professor, leading us to believe that he would be the most accessible given his receptiveness to UM students.
The Physicians Society is an organization that advocates for physicians looking to start their own medical practices. This organization would be of value to us as they have plentiful experience in getting a medical start up off the ground, and thus strong insight that could benefit our group as we look to same. We hope that we could make contact with the society via their director of Community Outreach, Dr. Hope, since her role involves community interaction and engagement, and this might be a strong opportunity for publicity for this organization..
The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly is a comprehensive, fully integrated, provider-based health plan for those who require a nursing home level of care. The PACE philosophy is centered on the belief that it is better for frail individuals and their families to be served in the community whenever possible. Given the organizations' frequent interaction with large communities of the elderly, we believe communicating them would enable us to attain answers that are truly representative of the population we wish to serve. We've targeted Leuth as our point of contact since she is a University of Michigan graduate, and thus within our immediate network.
