Fractions Dividing fractions can be as easy as remebering our Keep change changhe method from the last section but instaed of KCC its KCF keep change flip just to make it easier on us to find the greatest common denominator in solving our equation. Another way to solve addition or subtraction in fractions is when you have whole numbers in both fractions all you need to do is either subtract or add those two whole numbers and you have your whole number. then after that you just need to solve the two fractions and make it easier on yourself. Versus having to change each fraction into an improper fraction this makes it much easier for you to solve.
so always for adding you need to find the greatest common denominator between the two and remember kids need to know their multiplication facts.

Some helpful tips behind solving decimals are that you need to line up your decimals when adding or subtracting. You need to also line up whole numbers. The whole numbers are the numbers that come before the decimal point. We can also use the base ten blocks in a way when trying to solve the decimal points and where we put our decimals. so when it came to base ten blocks our flats were the hundreds but in decimals the flat represents our whole number. The longs in base ten were the tens well in decimals place values the long represents the tenths place. then lastly we have the units or the singles in base ten well those little guys represent the hundreths place in decimals.

To convert from a different base such as 24 base eight and you want to convert it to base ten all you need to do is

Juan's method of a way of letting us and helping us figure out if our answers will be positive or negative by placing the larger number with two signs- whatever sign it is and then placing the smaller number with only one sign +or- then you go and circle the zero pair out like we talked about with positive and negative integers.

so you would then circle one - from the 20 and one - from the 57 and you are left with a - sign so therefore you answer will be negative .
Keep Change change
keep change change or KCC is another great way of figuring out how to add or subtract integres and also a great way to find out if your answer is negative or positive.

so your new equation would -57+(-20) you kept the first number your changes the middle sign and you changed the 20
so then you just add 57+20=77 but your answer is negative so you put the -77

There are three other algorithms to find your answers to your questions.
There is the array model, area model, and building base ten model.
your area model is similar to expanded form except you are using a rectangle shape and finding length times width for example 34×26 you would expand out your numbers and put them in a rectangle shape then multiply out 30×20 30×6 4×20 and 4×6 then you would add up your totals to get your final answer.
Your array model would look like a rectangle as well except how i mentioned before about the 3(4) you would have 3 lines vertical and then crossing through those lines you would have 4 horizontal lines to get your total number of squares.
To build your base ten model you would draw out your longs and label them as 10 because they are worth 10 then for any 1’s you would label as dots. Then you would add up the totals to get your final answer.
You should teach the multiplication table in 3 groups.
Group 1 is ones, twos, fives, tens, elevens.
Group 2 is nines, doubles, eights.
Group 3 is threes, fours, sevens, and or eights.
also while teaching multiplication tables the students should know the difference between 3(4) and 4(3).
this indicates there are 3 groups of 4 students or there are 4 groups of 3 students.
There are eight types of algorithms they are called expanded form, left to right, scratch, friendly numbers, partial sums/trading off, lattice and equal Addens.
