Newton's 3 Laws

Newton's three laws of motion describe fundamental principles about how objects move and interact. The first law, often called the law of inertia, states that an object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion continues in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

Newton's 3 Laws

1st Law

EX: A soccer ball won't move until the player kicks it. A seat belt stops you from flying through the windsheild it you hit the brakes to hard.
An object in rest remains in rest and an object in motion remains in motion unless and unbalanced object acts

3rd Law

EX: If air is let out of a balloon quickly, air pushes down & balloon goes up. A fireman turns on his hose & is knocked backwards.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction

2nd Law

EX: You have to push a heavy ball harder to get it to move as fast as a small one. Push a large box & a small box with the same force, the small box will go faster
The acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force applied
