IMPACT: capitalist democratic countries such as the USA and Britain saw communism as a threat to their own economic security and influence. They were worried that communists would spread their ideas to their countries inciting revolutions. on the other hand communist USSR viewed these democratic countries with great suspicion and concluded that they wanted to instead destroy communism in USSR
