Gilchrist didn't take the test and went to work in South Africa
But when gilchrist went out he forgot his notebook, when Mr. Bannister arrived he realized what had happened and helped him hide the notebook out of gratitude for previous favors
As Mr. Bruno Bannister left the key when he went out, gilchrist can enter the office and when he was watching the exam he put on his running shoes which caused him to stain the table, and cut the desk with the spikes
Mr. Gilchrist was passing by Mr. Soames' office and saw from the window, by his height, that the exam was on the desk
Gilchrist is the culprit and the "accomplice" is Mr. Bonister

Something that is worrying since this must be something very secret until the day of the exam, to avoid copies from the students, no one besides the teacher can see it

FINALLY
Holmes declared that Mr Windbank and Mr Angel are the same person. Mr angels wants the money, but he wants the young woman too
PROBLEM RESOLUTION
Holmes begin to suspect when she tells him that Mr. Angel and Mr. Windibank have never met.
Holmes, in his search for the missing man, wrote two letters, one to Windibank and one to the employment company.As a result of the letter reply.Homes detect that the letter was written with the same typewriter

FACTS
They were going to get married on Friday of that week but that day Mr. Angel disappeared
He was going home when his father was not there, when they went out for the first time he proposed, his mother accepted this but the father did not know why he was travelling
They met at a dance while their daddy Windibank was on a business trip.
PROBLEM
Need to look for Mr. Hosmer Angel who disappeared on the day Miss Mary's fiancé was to be married
