Evidence For Evolution

Scientific evidence supporting the theory of evolution is drawn from multiple fields, providing a comprehensive understanding of how species have changed over time. Fossils serve as crucial historical records, showcasing the progression of life forms and documenting transitional species.

Evidence For Evolution

Biogeography/Species Distribution

Overview -Biogeography is the study of where animals died and where they may have evolved, it also shows why the animal was there and what it did to develop and succeed better in that environment
Example #2 -Biogeography also shows that animals near certain land marks like water where much more common to become amphibious then other animals who where not near water and did not have to deal with that part of the environment
Example #1 -Biogeography can show how the same animals in different parts of the world can develop differently to succeed in there climate, it also shows how the environment has a big impact on the evolution of animals

Genetic/DNA

Overview -DNA helps show how animals are related very well because by doing a DNA test you can see exactly what DNA that animal has in it and can see what animals have each others DNA to see what evolved into what
Example #2 -By DNA testing we were also able to find out that humans and dogs share very similar social DNA and many believe that is why humans and dogs get along so well
Example #1 -When doing DNA tests on humans and chimpanzees we ere able to see that humans and chimpanzees share about 99% of the exact same DNA which shows that we are very closely related

Embryology and Development

Overview -Embryology shows that no matter what animal it is many embryo look the same in the first part of development which makes many animals of all different kinds look the exact same at the start just like evolution
Example #2 -In the picture shown all embryo have tails even though very few will end up showing a tail at birth they all start the same and slowly over time become very different
Example #1 -in the first stages of development there are many animals that look identical which proves that they all started off as one animal and evolved into what they are today even though they all look the same when they are first created

Anatomy

Overview -Scientists use anatomy to help with evidence for evolution to help look at how creatures have evolved, they look at homologous creatures to see what structures are related
Example #2 -Many animals now have the same or appear to be the same organs or how there body digests nutrients, humans and pigs have very similar organs but look nothing alike which proves that there was something they both evolved from
Example #1 -Many species may share many of the same physical features that were shown in there recent or distant ancestors, for example humans from very early times look very much like monkeys and are believed to be our ancestors

Fossils

Overview -Fossils are a very important part of evolution because they can show life on earth from millions and millions of years ago, and can help determine relationships between different species
Example #2 -Also when you discover fossils of animals it helps show where that animal mainly lived and died which can help give proof to why certain animals that lived near certain landmarks developed different bone layouts and traits that we know them by today
Example #1 -By using fossils you can see the bone layout from any animal which can be very beneficial to research because it can help show how animals with the same bone structures slowly developed into other animals and see how animals today are not very different from animals millions of years ago
