• this allows body heat to stay preserved in the fur

• If a dog becomes cold they may shiver
• Most short-haired dogs are not able to create a double coat. So they are susceptible to becoming cold easier
• Skinny dogs are also likely to get cold easily because of their lack of fat to keep them insulated
