Mindset

The success of students is significantly influenced by their beliefs about their own intelligence and abilities. These beliefs, or mindsets, shape their outlook on life, making them either optimistic or pessimistic.

We should avoid praising our children's talent or intelligence and instead, praise them for their diligence, effort and conscientiousness. (Carol Dwek)

Students success depends on their belief about their intelligence and their abilities.

We can change our mindset to achieve success and fulfilment at any stage of our lives.

Our mindset is what makes us optimistic or pessimistic.

Mindset starts to shape in childhood and continues to develop throughout adult life.

Mindsets: Beliefs about yourself and your most basic qualities

Fixed Mindset

People with a fixed mindset give up easily
People with a fixed mindset avoid challenges
People with a fixed mindset are highly sensitive  to being wrong of making a mistake.
They have a fear of looking "dumb" because they do not believe that they can redeem thenselves
People with a fixed mindset always want to appear intelligent and achieve validation.
The belief that you are born with a certain amount of traits and that's all you will have
The belief that talent leads to success and effort is not required
The belief that traits cannot change
The belief that qualities are fixed traits

Growth Mindset

People with growth mindset learn from the mistakes of others
People with growth mindset  are able to continue to create new goals so they stay motivated and interested in the subjects they choose to study
People with growth mindset learn that in order to truly success you have to go through some mistakes
People with growth mindset view keep the end goal in mind and see the big picture
People with growth mindset view challenges as opportunities
The belief that not everyone is the same but they can become smarter it they work at it
The belief that basic abilities is simply a starting point for their potential
The belief that a persons abilities and intelligence can be developed with effort, learning, and persistence.
When people believe that can get smarter, they realize their effort has an effect on their success
The belief that learning and intelligence car grow with time and experience
