The name of Nami Island originated from General Nami, who died at the age of 28 after getting death penalty because of being falsely accused of treason during the reign of King Sejo, the seventh king of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. Jendral Nami wasn’t treason, so King Sejo felt guilty and gave an island to Jendral Nami’s family to express his apologized.
