In the central region of Malawi, a young boy named William Kamkwamba tackled a severe issue of famine affecting his village. At just fourteen, he ingeniously built a five-meter-high windmill with the help of a book titled "

The boy who tamed the wind

The young man made the wind bring water to Wimbe, his hometown, in the central region of Malawi. With recycled materials, plastic tubes, the mill generated enough energy to pump water from the local well.

With his determination, and thanks to the complicity of his teacher, the young man continued to go to the library of the educational center. There he found a book entitled Using energy which he used as the basis for his project.

At just fourteen, Kamkwamba devised a windmill five meters high. An idea that started at the local Kachokolo school.

In Malawi they had a serious problem without solving, it was the death by famine.
