Risk reduction. Identifying underlying causes. Eventually drug therapy
Identify patients with disease. Then determine if risk of treatment is worth it based on how bad their condition.

Lightheadedness, Palpitations, syncope shortness of breath etc.

Signs and Symptoms
Fever, Heart Murmur and Positive blood culture chest pains, shortness of breath. Although clinical presentation may vary!
Medical Management
Most strains of viridans streptococci, are sensitive to penecillins For patients unable to tolerate penicillin, vancomycin is most effective.
Dental Management
-Be aware of the source and frequency of bacteremia. - Be aware of the magnitude of the bacteremia.
