We see Fiona fall in love with Shrek more and more during the movie, just because they spend time together and she realizes she loves him for his personality.

The movie breaks the typical fairy-tale story. Cause In most fairy tales, a princess needs a prince to save them or cure them. But in Shrek, Fiona doesn’t need a prince, she needs someone who accepts her for who she is. The movie shows that love doesn’t always need a prince charming.
