Malas Eyes

The curriculum for Ontario's Grade Four students encompasses a diverse array of subjects designed to enhance their understanding of the world and their place within it. In Social Studies, students explore how daily life in different early societies contrasts with contemporary life, encouraging them to appreciate cultural and historical diversity.

Gather and organize information on ways of life and relationships with the environment in early societies, using a variety of primary and secondary sources in both print and electronic formats.

Visual Art
Demonstrate an awareness of a variety of art forms, styles, and traditions, and describe how they reflect the diverse cultures, times, and places in which they were made.
Music
Demonstrate an awareness, through listening, of the characteristics of musical forms and traditions of diverse times, places, and communities.
Drama
Communicate thoughts, feelings, and ideas to a specific audience, using audio, visual, and/or technological aids to enhance their drama work.
Dance
Identify and describe the different roles of dance in their lives and in communities around the world.

Analyze the impact on society and the environment of extracting and refining rocks and minerals for human use, taking different perspectives into account.

Social Studies

Describe some of the ways in which their daily life differs from the lives of young people from different backgrounds in two or more early societies.
