Mr.Bharj
Mr.Bharj feedback was focused on the workshops and fundraisers/donations we will be holding within’ schools. He suggested that if we do a fundraiser like movie night, we make it connected to our topic in order to spread awareness and later we can use that money collected to make efficient care packages.
Malala Yousaf
Who is she? Malala Yousaf Azani is a child and women’s right activist 1997-Now. She was a victim of a taliban attack in 2012 that occurred outside a school where she was shot in the head due to being a girl receiving education. Since then she has defied the Taliban and fought for the education of females. In October 2014, she became the youngest person to receive Nobel Peace Prize.

Impact on Me Being born in Pakistan and living there for 13 years I have grown really close to the issues and stereotypes related to women and children found in our society. Watching Malala speak for women and children makes me feel emotionally connected to her due to our background and provides me with a motivation to fight against the stereotypes and provide females with a safe place to be themselves without being judged or threatened.

Impact on Girls to Girls Malala highly impacts our project “Girls to Girls” as she provides us with a motivation to fight for female and children's rights no matter what obstacles show up. Further, she teaches us about how much impact we can make in the society by just educating one girl.

Mr.Zeuch
Mr.Zeuch gave us feedback in regards to our plan for our organization “Girls to Girls”. He told us it was a good idea to visit organizations once before we hand out care packages and carry out workshops in order to understand our audience. Further, he suggested that our workshops are positive themed and allow females to move forward rather than look back to their past.

Organizations

I Am A Girl
What do they do? I am a Girl is part of the organization Plan International Canada, an organization that works domestically and internationally to promote child rights and lift children out of poverty. “I am a Girl”, works with different countries and communities in order to educate young females by demolishing some of their barriers. Further, they provide females with a safe space from violence, provide health care, water and sanitation, and take active stand on child marriage. Economic security is provided to females too in order to support their needs and wants.

Impact on the issue By educating and providing economic security, Plan International Canada lifts female out of poverty and allows them to have basic human needs. Further, by providing them with a safe space, health care, training programs, etc, they allow females to learn their rights, be independent and have good physical and mental health.

Influence on Girls to Girls: “I am a Girl” will allow Girls to Girls to understand how to collaborate with different types and ages of females with various pasts. This will allow us to create effective workshops and learn how to collaborate with the audience. Further, we will be given the opportunity to reflect on our workshop and make them better/innovate.

Eva's
What do they do? Eva’s is an organization that provides youth with shelter and programs that allows them to build futures free of homelessness and poverty. The programs include employment skills. Eva’s completes youths immediate needs and provides them with training, resources, other tools, and support they need in the long term in order to completely transition out of homelessness and poverty. One of their famous programs is the print shop, whenever someone prints using EVA’s shop, the money goes into preparing youth for graphics and print sector.

Impact on the issue: By doing what they do, Eva's ensures that all the youth community under their care end up with a good efficient job as well as good social skills such as communicating. This allows youth to have a homelessness future and allows them to financially grow slowly which fortunately leads to them being out of poverty. Further, Eva’s make sure that every person has a good mental health by providing them with needs and wants and a safe space to talk and build healthy relationships.

Influence on Girls to Girls Collaborating with Eva’s will allow us understand how to run an efficient program (workshops in our case) without it being hectic and cover various topics. Further, as a group we can understand some of the specific reasons poverty is found in the youth which we can use later for underaged females and provide them emotional support. We will be collaborating with Eva’s to attend their training programs in order to observe how they run their programs This will allow us to efficiently spread awareness and collaborate with females which will lead us to making an effective and positive influence on them.

Alternatives For Girls
What do they do? Alternatives for Girls provides high risk and homeless young females in the community with a safe space to avoid violence, exploitation, etc. It helps them to grow as a person by providing them with resources, support, opportunities to be safe and by allowing them to make positive decisions for their life ahead. The three services used by Alternatives for Girls to achieve their mission are AFG Prevention, AFG Outreach, and AFG Shelter.

Impact on the issue By doing so, AFG eliminates the negative activities and aspects from the women's life causing them to live a healthier life which ultimately leads to decrease in poverty. Female participating in their programs learn life skills about the community which allows them to find good jobs, avoid violence and unhealthy activities, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Influence on Girls to Girls: By collaborating with this organization we can directly build a relationship with females facing mental and financial troubles/victims of poverty. This would allow us to understand and empathize with their situation causing us to make effective workshop lessons and icebreakers which would help them mentally and socially. Further, it would give us an idea about their needs and wants which we can use to create successful care packages. Girls to Girls will be collaborating with this organization to do our workshops.
