Archetype Traits: The Archetype that Hermes has that is most relevant to his son, is that he is a trickster figure. This isn't seen right away but, at the end of the story Luke reviled to be a traitor that stole the lightening bolt. His deceitful nature is well hidden because its really not caught onto until the end.
Archetype Traits: When Athena is used as a reference or symbol, it is more often than not, correlated with wisdom and battle strategy. This means her daughter Annabeth has great wit and battle strategy that helps her and her friends Grover and Percy as they go through their journey.
Character archetype, the independent women: Throughout the whole course of the story she is treated equally among the two male leads, and not different because of her gender. There are numerous times Where Annabeth uses her skills to help save her friends, despite not being the true main character.
Character archetype, the bully: Clarisse is the bully to Percy Jackson in the story, serving as character development for Percy. His frist confrontation with her happens early in the story. Showing the reader how Percy starts off as someone who can barley defend himself from other demigods, to someone who was able to win a fight against Ares at the end of the story.
Character archetype, the trickster: This is usually used for items though it works for Luke as well.Trickster items seek to deceives the hero, and Luke deceives everyone including Percy.
Archetype Traits: Opposite To Athena, instead of relating to wisdom and battle strategy, Ares has symbolisms of war, brutality, and wrath. This in turn makes his daughter hot tempered and antagonist towards anyone over something as small as looking at her.
Archetype Traits: Poseidon is associated with the sea. Therefore, Percy has water ability's. Poseidon is also used as a way to reference something powerful because he's one of three main Gods, also know as: the big three. The other two Gods being Zeus and Hades. With this knowledge, it's logical that Percy was the strongest demigod in this book.
Character archetype, the Hero: The reason for this is because he is the one to go through the Journey archetype in the story and he ends up saving everyone in the end. It's should be noted the it's Common for children of the big three to have the Hero Archetypes in the classic myths. Take Theseus for example: He was also a son of Poseidon and is most notable for killing the Minotaur. This parallels Percy as he also killed the Minotaur in his story.
