DNS

Why DNS was needed?
DNS (Domain Name Server) is mainly used to convert human meaningful name (domain name) to computer meaningful name (IP address) in Internet. ... It allows you to use internet more easily by allowing you to specify a meaningful name on your web browser instead of using IP address.

Meaning
Domain Name System
According to Wikipedia
The Domain Name System (DNS) is a hierarchical and decentralized naming system for computers, services, or other resources connected to the Internet or a private network. It associates various information with domain names assigned to each of the participating entities. Most prominently, it translates more readily memorized domain names to the numerical IP addresses needed for locating and identifying computer services and devices with the underlying network protocols. By providing a worldwide, distributed directory service, the Domain Name System has been an essential component of the functionality of the Internet since 1985.

Internet protocols

Who made Internet Protocols?
Vincent Cerf
Robert Kahn
Why was Internet Protocol are needed?
The objective was to develop communication protocols which would allow networked computers to communicate transparently across multiple, linked packet networks. This was called the Internetting project and the system of networks which emerged from the research was known as the “Internet.” The system of protocols which was developed over the course of this research effort became known as the TCP/IP Protocol Suite, after the two initial protocols developed: Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP).
Type of Internet Protocol
User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
Internet Protocol (IP)
Post Office Protocol (POP)
Transfer Control Protocol (TCP)
File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS)
Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP)

Subtopic

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)
When was Internet Protocol was made?
The Internet Protocol was made in January 1, 1983
What are Internet Protocols?
The Internet Protocol (IP) is a set of requirements for addressing and routing data on the Internet

IP address

Why are IP Address are needed?
Much like a real address, the IP address also enables the transfer of messages to and from your PC to other PCs connected through a network. This unique identifier acts like a fingerprint for your PC which also enables to track it down in case of a malicious activity.
Type of IP Address
IPv6
IPv4
How many IP Address are there in the world?
There are 4,294,967,296 IP address in the world right now
An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication.[1][2] An IP address serves two main functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing.

History Of WWW

Why was WWW needed?
It's actually not necessary to use WWW in URLs. It exists for just one purpose – to identify the address as a website. This is not the case with other important URL signifiers, such as a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server (ftp) or news server (news). As such, WWW may be classified as a subdomain of a larger website.
When was WWW was made?
The WWW started in 1989. While working with CERN Tim Bernes-Lee invented the WWW (World Wide Web)
About
The World Wide Web ("WWW" or "The Web") is a global information medium which users can access via computers connected to the Internet. The term is often mistakenly used as a synonym for the Internet itself, but the Web is a service that operates over the Internet, just as email and Usenet also do. The history of the Internet dates back significantly further than that of the World Wide Web.
