In Canadian culture, egalitarianism and interdependence among people are highly valued, as indicated by a moderate score on the Power Distance dimension. Canadians exhibit a strong tendency towards indulgence, enjoying life and placing significant importance on leisure activities and personal freedom.

Canada Japan

Japanese see their life as a very short moment in a long history of mankind. From this perspective, some kind of fatalism is not strange to the Japanese. Looking at the the rate it shows that the Japaneses like to live by their virtues and practically. Whereas Canada is classified as Indulgent.
Canadians are also tolerant of ideas or opinions from anyone and allow the freedom of expression. Looking at our score we can say that Canada is open to anyone. Whereas Japan's rate is really high. This is often attributed to the fact that Japan is constantly threatened by natural disasters from earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons to volcano eruptions. Under these circumstances Japanese learned to prepare themselves for any uncertain situation.

Masculinity VS Femininity

Canada seems to moderately an "Masculine" society with respect to achievement, success and winning. That does not mean they are not hard working. At 95, Japan is one of the most Masculine societies in the world.

Individualism VS Collectivism

Japan scoring 46 seems to be a collective society. The most popular explanation for this is that Japanese society does not have extended family system. Where as in Canada scoring 80 shows how we are individualist society which means we look after ourselves or our direct family.

A Masculine society is based off to be driven by competition, achievement and success, with success being defined by the winner. Where as in a Feminine society values consists of caring for others and quality of life. Also referred to "tough VS tender"

The degree of interdependence a society maintains between the people.

With respect to communication, Canadians value a straightforward exchange of information. Whereas Japan is more closer to a hierarchy system throughout the country. They take their hierarchy positions in any social setting and act accordingly

They have an uplifting state of mind and have an inclination towards confidence. Moreover, they put a higher level of significance on recreation time, act as they please and spend money as they wish.
