LOS TRANSTORNOS ALIMENTICIOS
Tenses demonstrate the time of actions centered around the subject of the sentence. These actions are called verbs and change according to tenses.
¿Cómo se tratan los trastornos de la alimentación?
There are four Future tenses:
- Future Simple ('with Will' and 'with Going to')
- Future Continuous
- Future Perfect Simple
- Future Perfect Continuous

Future Simple is used:
- to predict an event in the future
- to invite
- to give orders
- to express willingness
- for actions that have not yet occurred but that will occur at a future date

¿Existen ensayos clínicos que estén estudiando los trastornos de la alimentación?
There are four Past tenses:
- Past Simple
- Past Continuous

El NIMH respalda una amplia variedad de investigaciones, entre ellas, los ensayos clínicos que buscan nuevas formas de prevenir, detectar o tratar enfermedades y afecciones como los trastornos de la alimentación. Aunque las personas pueden beneficiarse de ser parte de un ensayo clínico, los participantes deben saber que el objetivo principal de un ensayo es obtener nuevos conocimientos científicos para que otros puedan recibir una mejor ayuda en el futuro.

Past simple expresses:
- an action that happened in the past and has no connection with the present
- an action that happened once in the past
- an action that happened regularly in the past
- an action that was true for some time in the past
- an event or action that already occurred
- an action that is finite - has both a starting and a stopping point

- yesterday
- last month, last year
- ago (e.g. two days ago)
- in (e.g. in 1997)
- never, always, seldom, often, frequently, occasionally, once, twice

Trastorno alimentario compulsivo
Present Perfect is used for:
- an action that occurred at a time which is indefinite and has its effect on the subject
- an action that occurred many times and has the possibility to occur in the present/future
- an action that began in the past and is still going on in the present

- just
- already
- yet
- for
- never/ever
- up to now
Cuando tienes el trastorno alimentario compulsivo, habitualmente comes en exceso (atracón) y tienes la sensación de pérdida de control sobre lo que comes. Puedes comer con rapidez o consumir más alimentos de los que tienes pensado, incluso cuando no tienes apetito, y seguir comiendo mucho tiempo después de sentirte demasiado lleno.

Bulimia nerviosa
Present Continuous is used to indicate the ongoing time (now).

La bulimia nerviosa, llamada frecuentemente «bulimia», es un trastorno de la alimentación grave y potencialmente mortal. Cuando padeces bulimia, tienes episodios de atracones y purgas que incluyen la sensación de pérdida de control sobre tu alimentación. Muchas personas con bulimia también restringen lo que comen durante el día, lo que suele causar más episodios de atracones y purgas

La anorexia nerviosa, a menudo simplemente denominada «anorexia», es un trastorno de la alimentación potencialmente mortal que se caracteriza por un peso corporal anormalmente bajo, un gran temor a aumentar de peso y una percepción distorsionada del peso o de la figura corporal. Las personas con anorexia hacen todo lo posible por controlar el peso y la figura corporal, lo que frecuentemente afecta de manera importante la salud y las actividades cotidianas.
