Attribution Theory

Attribution Theory is a psychological framework used to understand how individuals interpret the behavior of others by attributing feelings, beliefs, and intentions to them. This theory distinguishes between controllable and uncontrollable causes as well as stable and unstable factors, and internal versus external attributions.
