The brain is divided into three primary sections that influence different aspects of human behavior and survival. The Neocortex is responsible for higher-order thinking, such as controlling thoughts, managing the nervous system, and determining handedness.
The Limbic brain is the part of the brain that controls our emotions. When a person is faced with any given situation this part of the brain dictates the emotion, scared, angry, sad, happy, or confused.
The Neocortex Brain
The part of the brain is considered the side that controls our thoughts. The Neocortex is broken into 2 hemispheres, the left and right. This part also controls the nervous system and whether if the person is left or right handed.
The Limbic Brain
Carl Jung
Carl Jung was a psychologist who came up with the theory of personality. He believed the thoughts of the brain define who we are. He believed our thoughts broken up into different catergories, the ego which is the conscious mind that contains our perceptions, memories, and feelings: the personal unconscious which are thoughts that were once our conscious: and the collective unconscious which he believes contain thoughts of our historical past.
The Mind/Body Connection
The mind and body are connected in many ways, if the mind think it then the body will react. I'm on a diet and a big problem I have is driving past fast food restaurant and I have to tell myself that its not good for me and I'll keep driving making a health conscious decision.
