Ender's Game

Courage is a recurring theme seen in various contexts worldwide. One notable example is Ender, whose bravery consistently allowed him to stand up for himself in confrontations. This trait mirrors that of soldiers who must exhibit courage while facing their opponents, often risking their lives for the sake of their nation, family, and friends.

When Ender showed Empathy, it related to another book that I have read which is called "The Hunger Games". This book has a character called Katniss Everdeen were she showed empathy many times because she always cared about the people around her. She did this several times by helping them survive throughout her battles as well as providing them aid. As a result she showed very effective leadership like Ender Wiggen.

Bravery is one trait that has been seen throughout the world many times. Ender had so much bravery that he could always stand up for himself when fighting. For example this trait connects to solders because they require bravery while fighting their opponent and not be fearful of them. They must always be prepared to risk their lives to die for their nation, as well as their family and friends.

The several times Enders shows creativity when he is leading really stands out and has a very significant connection to the world. For example a famous quote by Steve Jobs says that " Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower." This quote shows how creativity is such a valuable trait needed in the world especially when leading a group of people. For example Steve Jobs himself shows leadership as he is able to innovate such efficient products for people to use by creatively thinking of several ideas that can benefit the world.

When Ender showed these examples of Confidence it showed a very major "text to world connection". For example many big leaders like mayors, prime ministers or presidents show these qualities exactly like Ender. They show this consistently on a daily basis as they are required to show confidence when giving big speeches for events. Specifically Adolf Hitler, he was able to give powerful speeches to his followers with very strong confidence, which persuaded them to follow him.

Both of these examples shows the trait of bravery. This is because Ender hed a strong mindset to stand up for himself in tough situations. Even if he felt outnumbered or weaker than the opponent he still managed to pull a good fight. As a leader bravery is needed mindset if you want to lead effectively. A bad example of a leader would show fear to your opponent , which is exactly what Ender Wiggen did not do.

Both of these examples have displayed empathy. This is because as a leader Ender was able to empathize with his enemy's by understanding his/her objective and making piece with them. This shows empathy because he had the ability to not be "cold hearted", as he tries to view the the enemy's perspective to figure out what they really wanted. As you can see Ender was able to empathize with the buggers life because he thought that they had the same value of life that humans did. According to https://blog.taskque.com/characteristics-good-leaders/, "understanding the problems of your followers and feeling their pain is the first step to become an effective leader". This quote shows that empathy is one of the most crucial steps to being an effective leader, as it helps you develop better relations with your team / followers.

These two examples showcase exactly how to be creative/innovative when thinking of different ideas. This is because he was able to create very brilliant plans that nobody his age can think of which caused him to be successful most of the time. This shows leadership because due to his ability to create unique ideas he was able to make his team stand out on the battlefield. According to https://blog.taskque.com/characteristics-good-leaders/. "Creative thinking and constant innovation is what makes you and your team stand out from the crowd. Think out of the box to come up with unique ideas and turn those ideas and goals into reality". As you can see, this quote basically summarizes that an effective leader must always learn how to take all the facts and ideas into consideration and form them into a plan, thus "thinking of the bigger picture".

Both pieces of evidence from the book, clearly models confidence, resulting in effective leadership. This is because Ender had the ability to give orders without shying out. This would make him a successful leader as it proves that he knows how to lead/control a team. According to https://www.inc.com/resources/leadership/articles/20080301/dao.html, "trying to teach leadership without first building confidence is like building a house on a foundation of sand". This quote basically shows that making decisions without the self confidence can result in poor leadership skills.

BRAVERY

As Ender peacefully minds his own business in the bathroom, Bonzo, the commander of the "Salamadar Army" plans on killing Ender because of his jealousy and hatred for him. As soon as Ender notices him walk into the bathroom "he swings his left leg as if to kick but changed it to a leap at the last moment. (pg 249)

As Ender walks innocently back to class just after monitor is removed, he is stopped boy named Stilson who planed on fighting him and he says "are you going to let me through?".

EMPATHY

After Ender is told that he has destroyed the entire Bugger world unknowingly, he refuses to take credit for his work anymore and chooses not to go back to earth, but instead help the remaining buggers to find a safe world to live in no matter how much he ages. As he carries the poor, helpless bugger out of the bugger world he says " ill carry you, ill go from world to world until I find a time and a place where you can come awake in safety". (pg 366)

While Ender was talking to his sister after returning from space about how he cannot risk attempting to kill another life he says "In the moment I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to hurt him, then in that very moment I love him". (pg 279)

CREATIVITY

As Ender Wiggen executes his plan to take the fleets entire army and circle the little Docotor, the author says "he whispers to his squadron leaders once more and suddenly a dozen of the remaining fighters formed again into formation". (pg 338)

When Ender Wiggen was exceututing a plan, in which all his soldiers had to rush into their enemy's base while being frozen he said " when you are ordered to move, move fast so if you get iced you'll bounce around instead of getting in the way of you eney's operations". [pg 198]

CONFIDENCE

As Ender Wiggen told his army to suit up immediately he says " we're on the morning schedule straight to practice after breakfast!" (pg 195)

When Ender Wiggen was teaching one of this team members (in the The Dragon Army) how to properly get into formation, he said, "why are you upside down solider?" (pg 196)

Ender's Wiggen.
