Foster Hewitt, born on November 21, 1902, was a Canadian broadcasting legend who made a significant impact on the sports media landscape. Attending the University of Toronto, he excelled as a boxer during his student years.

Hewitt retired in 1963 to devote all of his time to his radio station CKFH in Toronto.
Hewitt was honoured when a media award in his name was introduced by the Hall to worthy broadcast recipients.
