Teaching English as a second language to adults and teenagers involves addressing various types of errors, such as pronunciation, grammar, and lexical mistakes. Unlike children, adults and teenagers often feel embarrassed when corrected publicly, so a sensitive approach is necessary.

Errors

Since I usually work with adults and teenagers, I repeat the sentence emphazising in the error. I try to repeat the sentence using the correct form, so that they can notice their mistakes.

We have to consider that they react completely different from kids, they usually feel embarrased when they are corrected in front of other people.

my grAdE is 8
I nEEd a new car
what diD you do?

grammar errors

I use to paste on the wall some posters with the pattern that we are using, this helps the students to check if they are right or wrong.

If they have a mistake, I point out the poster, so that they check by themselves.

they are having hungry
what did you do tomorrow?
he have eaten a lot

lexical errors

With lexical errors, I write some sentences on the board using the words in different cases, but if they are confused, I explained sometimes using spanish.

nice to know you
my girlfrind is beutiful
that movie was amazed
