COMPUTER PSYCHOTHERAPY

36 patients suffering form mild tomoderate clinical depression were divided into 3 groups

Third group worked with an interactive computer program.

Second group received individual sessions with a human terapist.

first group received no treatment until the study was completed

After six weeks of results of group

The group he worked with the computer showed exactly the same improvement

The patients who saw the human therapist had improved in comparison to the control group

In the future emotionally troubled patients may be able to talk to computers instead of human psychologists.

It attempts to teach patients to unlearn their pessimistic attitudes and substitute more positives and responses.

The pacients received cognitive-behavioral therapy.
